Taos Hotel Amenities

Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza began serving Taos' lodging and hotel needs in the early 1900's. Originally named El Taoseno Courts, the Inn has experienced several major changes over the years much along the lines of historic Taos Pueblo.

Our #1 amenities are the reason why most Guests choose Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza. We are the best located hotel in Taos. Remember the 3 cardinal rules of real estate?  Location, location, location. Conveniently located just a couple blocks South of historic Taos Plaza, most Guests leave their vehicle at the Inn as they explore the nooks and crannies of the historic district and Taos Plaza with over 80 galleries, 100 shops, several museums, and numerous dining and entertainment places. It's also easy to wander to all the other activities and sites in the greater Taos area from the Rio Grande Gorge and Monument to the forest service mountain roads, trails, rivers, and ski areas and the Enchanted Circle.

Our #2 amenity is our "Central Park". Peaceful, relaxing, quiet describes our acre sized courtyard. The lobby, swimming pool, and most rooms at Indian Hills Inn, Taos Plaza face or look out upon an expanse of grass (snow during winter), tall trees, and patio. That makes this one of the most peaceful spots in the center of any town. Many Guests enjoy a peaceful, serene, relaxing morning, afternoon, or evening sitting overlooking our Central Park and under our Grandma Willow tree or the other 80+ foot tall evergreens. They tell us nothing beats sitting in front of a fire in the horno firepit enjoying their favorite beverage. Relaxing while viewing the sun crawling over the Sangre de Christo mountains to the East makes for a positive start to the day. Watching with awe describes the view from our lobby or courtyard of the remarkable colorful sunsets to the West. This may be THE place to hold your next family, school, or military reunion or meeting. Maybe a wedding, anniversary party or other special event? Guests often BBQ a family meal in the horno BBQ area (subject to NM's possible fire restrictions). I'd like my filet medium :-) please.

Chili Building - Family Double Queen - nothing fancy but always clean. The general amenity for the family rooms is queen sized beds, most with memory foam mattress toppers.

We most recently updated the tubs and shower enclosures and freshened the furniture and beds. A few connecting rooms are available for those who'd prefer some extra space. Depending upon the season and business, we may be able add the second room for a discounted rate.

Bear & Kokopeli Buildings - Deluxe Single King - newer hence a bit upscale.

Cultured marble tub surrounds and counter tops plus thermostatically controlled gas log heater/fireplaces (perhaps our nicest amenity) make for Guest comfort. Two rooms meet HCA standards. All SW design furniture, wood beams.
